Sandro Pertile, the World Cup director for ski jumping, announced that from the 2026/27 season onward, both the men's and women's circuits will have the same calendar. This information was revealed during the Nordicum Forum in Bad Mitterndorf. This change is seen as a step towards evolving the discipline to increase interest in women's ski jumping.

On October 31, 2024, Pertile emphasized the importance of integrating the schedules for men and women, a decision made by FIS authorities last spring. He outlined specific dates and stages leading up to a unified calendar for contests vying for the Crystal Globe. The changes are intended to boost media attention on women's ski jumping while reducing some costs.

In the current season, nearly half of the events in the World Cup calendar will be organized jointly, taking place in locations such as Lillehammer, Engelberg, Willingen, Lake Placid, Oslo, Vikersund, and Lahti. Next season, the number of joint events will increase to 10 out of 17, with additional competitions in Falun, Wisła, and Trondheim. Full integration of the calendars is planned for the post-Olympic season.

Pertile acknowledged that merging men’s and women’s competitions may seem straightforward on paper, but it requires significant preparations in practice. The schedule will be more demanding, and work on new solutions is ongoing, with the aim of developing women's ski jumping, which he believes has great potential. The 2026/27 season is also expected to launch the women's Four Hills Tournament.
