The women’s training sessions for the ski jumping World Championships in the classical style have begun in Trondheim. On Wednesday, each competitor took three jumps on a normal hill (102 m), and among the Polish team, Anna Twardosz stood out with jumps that placed her 26th, 32nd, and 18th overall. The Polish delegation comprises Anna Twardosz, Pola Bełtowska, and Nicole Konderla.
Recent attention has been drawn to Pola Bełtowska who, at a Lake Placid event, jumped 131 m – a distance that broke the hill record and equaled the Polish national record. Although this achievement is not officially recognized by FIS, it left a positive impression. However, in the current Trondheim training sessions she recorded more modest results, landing in the 59th, 63rd, and 54th positions.
Nicole Konderla achieved intermediate placements (42nd, 53rd, and 39th), while the practice sessions were led by Norway’s Eirin Maria Kvandal (twice) along with Japan’s Sara Takanashi, who each topped the sessions. The championships will see a qualification round for women on Thursday at 20:30, followed by the first women’s individual competition on Friday. The men’s training sessions and their individual event are scheduled to follow later in the week, with the competitions concluding on March 8.
