Lindsey Vonn is on the verge of a major comeback to the World Cup circuit, aiming to compete again in the Super-G events at St. Moritz. The U.S. Ski Federation has officially submitted a request for a wildcard to allow her participation. This would mark her return to competitive skiing nearly six years after her last race in January 2019. Vonn, who turned 40 in October, has been training in New Zealand and is set to compete in speed events in Copper Mountain on December 7 and 8 to lower her FIS points. Vonn's coach Stefan Abplanalp is confident in her readiness, emphasizing she will only return when fully prepared to compete at the highest level. Vonn is focused on ensuring her knee, where she received a new prosthetic last April, can withstand the competitive pressure before making her official return.
