Vikersund Leader Sounds Alarm – Here's the Ski Federation's Response

The leader of the organizing committee for the Raw Air competitions in Vikersund has warned that the upcoming winter event is at risk. Currently, there is no agreement between the Norwegian Ski Federation and the event organizing company, Flying Team Vikersund AS.

According to a report by Bygdeposten, Leif Arne Berget provided an update to local politicians about the situation surrounding the World Cup events planned for this winter. He stated that despite efforts to negotiate an agreement with the ski federation, progress has been insufficient and both sides are far apart on terms.

"For a long time, we have tried to reach an agreement with the Ski Federation. So far, we have not succeeded in negotiations, and the parties are far apart. Raw Air 2025 is currently a very uncertain prospect," Berget said, emphasizing the organizers’ frustration.

He expressed that the federation officials do not recognize the costs associated with the event in Modum. In contrast, Terje Lund, the event manager for the ski federation, denied the claims of arrogance and asserted they are seeking good solutions with all organizers. He highlighted that the federation increased its contribution to Vikersund from 7 million NOK to 8 million NOK last year, indicating ongoing support despite financial constraints.

In recent years, both the organization and the ski federation have reportedly experienced losses during the Raw Air finals.
