Tour Kick-off - Five Austrians at the Top: Eagles Dominate Qualification!

Daniel Tschofenig

In an outstanding display at the qualification for the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf, five Austrians led the field, with Daniel Tschofenig scoring 167.5 points to take first place. He was followed by Stefan Kraft (164.8 points), Michael Hayböck (162.3 points), Jan Hörl (157.3 points), and Maximilian Ortner (156.2 points). The highest non-Austrian competitor was Pius Paschke from Germany, who placed sixth with 154.9 points.

The first competition round takes place on Sunday at 4:30 PM, where more Austrian skiers, including Markus Müller and Stephan Embacher, will also participate.

Hörl commented on his jump, noting he lost some points due to a landing issue, but expressed enthusiasm about the team's performance overall, saying, "It’s incredible to have such a strong team on the roster."

Kraft, enjoying the moment, acknowledged that the holiday training has paid off, and he’s feeling confident going into the tournament.
