Dream Start: DSV in New Heights

DSV Sports Director Horst Hüttel has drawn an extremely positive conclusion after the almost perfect first ski jumping weekend.

Pius Paschke wears yellow

Pius Paschke and Katharina Althaus in the yellow jersey, along with leading the women's team classification: DSV Sports Director Horst Hüttel expressed his satisfaction after the nearly perfect first weekend of ski jumping. "Three yellow jerseys - I believe this has never happened before. We are very pleased," Hüttel said.

Paschke, Althaus, Selina Freitag, and the mixed team ensured seven podium finishes across the first five competitions of the championship winter. "The numbers speak for themselves. We are, of course, very, very satisfied. This brings calmness and confirmation for the efforts of the last months," Hüttel remarked.

DSV Chief Keeps Excitement in Check

However, the sports chief does not want to rest on these results. "We will not fall into total euphoria because the winter has just begun. We will see how it continues in Kuusamo next weekend," he said.

Next weekend in the icy cold of Finland, only the men will start - with Paschke as the top jumper. "Going to Ruka in yellow, to my favorite jump, is really cool," said the 34-year-old.

Paschke already has 180 World Cup points this season - more than in the entirety of the 2021/22 (174) and 2022/23 (168) seasons.

"Pius jumped excellently. I am satisfied with the entire form of the team, even though we still have work to do, clearly," said Men's National Coach Stefan Horngacher, who now has to warm up: "In Kuusamo it will be cold. Wind, cold, darkness - that's a different game. But our people love it; they enjoy it. We are very happy to go there."
