Thomas Thurnbichler has clarified the situation regarding the Polish ski jumpers ahead of the upcoming World Cup events. In a conversation with Sport.pl, the Austrian explained that the team competing in Lake Placid will be the same as the one that took part in Willingen.
During the Saturday event in Willingen, four of the Polish jumpers secured their place in the second round, while Aleksander Zniszczoł was the only one to perform in the first round, with a jump of 122 meters. Following the competition, Thurnbichler made the decision to send the same team to Lake Placid.
According to Sport.pl, the selected athletes for the Lake Placid contests on February 8 and 9 are: Dawid Kubacki, Jakub Wolny, Paweł Wąsek, Piotr Żyła, and Aleksander Zniszczoł. Thurnbichler noted that the decision had to be made early due to logistical constraints.
The article also mentions that Thomas Thurnbichler will not be competing in Sapporo next week, leaving that event to the ski jumpers.
