Tomasz Pilch, on his part, made an impression as a 17-year-old scoring in the World Cup earlier but currently struggles with form and competes only in the Continental Cup. He joined the B team in Ruka, alongside Maciej Kot and Piotr Żyła. In a recent tournament, he jumped 126.5 m and expressed joy by moving his arms in celebration, despite this distance not allowing him even to advance to the next round.

"I don’t know," Wolny tried to cut the topic short. "No, you cannot respond that way. The whole of Poland is waiting," Merk encouraged him. "I just saw the coaches on TV and copied it," he cleverly sidestepped the question with a smile.

"It’s an inside joke for us; we saw the move yesterday performed by one of the competitors and decided that if someone jumps over 135 meters in Titisee, we will redo it on the tower," added Thurnbichler, as quoted by Merk.
