Daniel-André Tande Bids Farewell to Ski Jumping

Daniel-André Tande, a well-respected name in ski jumping, has announced his retirement at the age of 30. This decision follows a prolonged battle with fear and anxiety stemming from a serious fall in Planica in 2021. In a heartfelt interview, Tande revealed that the mental obstacles he has faced since the accident have become insurmountable, sharing that, "The fear has become greater than the joy of ski jumping."

His career, marked by remarkable achievements, includes an Olympic gold medal in the team event at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games and numerous World Cup victories. Reflecting on his journey, Tande noted, "I have fulfilled many dreams in my career, and two of the greatest highlights are the world championship title in ski flying in Oberstdorf in 2018 and the World Cup win in Holmenkollen in 2022."

Although he has not yet shared detailed plans for the future, he remains open to exploring various opportunities outside of elite competition. The ski jumping world will certainly miss both his athletic prowess and his vibrant personality.
