On this Four Hills Tournament, Piotr Żyła will surely want to forget as soon as possible. He only scored points in Garmisch-Partenkirchen while finishing poorly in Oberstdorf and Innsbruck, falling short of qualifying for the second round. At Bergisel, he did not stop in the mixed zone.
Today he agreed to speak but seemed noticeably drained. He was the complete opposite of the Żyła we heard from in Wisła when he returned to the World Cup.
Our jumper struggled in training, but during the qualifications, he improved slightly. A 127-meter jump secured him a spot in the competition, but there was no trace of joy on his face.

I had some problems, but I don’t want to analyze it too much or overthink. I want to close this topic and just continue to work on doing what I know best, which is to make the jumps that I’m capable of. That’s what I want to focus on - he said.

I think that last jump was decent, but again, I don’t want to analyze it because I have my reasons. I don’t want to discuss it with you because I need to talk it over with the coach, and then something will be clear. Because I keep analyzing, and not much comes from it - he added.
Problems for Piotr Żyła. Comments from Thomas Thurnbichler
In the mixed zone, Thomas Thurnbichler spoke about Żyła. - In the morning, we had a good talk. We clearly indicated to Piotr what we expect from him. These were small elements he should change. He succeeded in doing that during the qualifications - admitted the coach.
The tip given to the jumper was about maintaining arm positions in flight regardless of how the jump might appear from the take-off. - He did this the best since the Engelberg competition - commented the Austrian.
The final act of the Four Hills Tournament is tomorrow. The competition in Bischofshofen will start at 16:30.
