Stefan Kraft is ready to defend his title despite not being named Austria’s "Athlete of the Year." Last season, he was undisputedly the best in ski jumping worldwide, achieving a total of 13 World Cup victories, including his third overall title and medals at the World Ski Flying Championships. Acknowledging the challenges that come with being the reigning champion, Kraft commented, "I know it can be tough to follow up on such a successful season since everyone measures you against last year's performance."

He has been diligent in his preparations, aiming to maintain his status as one of the top jumpers this season. Kraft noted, "Perhaps someone else will have a run like I did last year, but I am confident in my ability to compete at the highest level."

Despite new rules limiting competitors to ten suits per season, Kraft does not find it burdensome and has had an excellent summer of training. Only minor setbacks occurred, and he is feeling physically fit, having not missed any training or suffered illnesses.

With his sights set on the Four Hills Tournament and the upcoming World Championships in Trondheim, Kraft emphasized the importance of these events, stating, "If I come home without a medal from the World Championships, I will not be happy."

His confidence and readiness for the challenges ahead show that he remains a significant contender in the world of ski jumping this season.
