The former ski jumper, who became a team Olympic champion in 2014, shared that despite a doctor's warning in 2006 against a ski jumping career, he chose to continue in the sport. During his active career, Freund experienced nighttime seizures and opted to keep his diagnosis private to avoid associating any poor performances with his condition. He noted that his surroundings have adapted to deal with his epilepsy, ensuring his safety during nighttime episodes. Freund's remarkable career included multiple medals in ski jumping world championships and a total World Cup victory in 2015.
