Marius Lindvik Celebrates Victory

Marius Lindvik took gold in the normal hill event at the Ski World Championships, held in Trondheim. He expressed gratitude towards his father, acknowledging his support throughout his career.

After setting a hill record in the first round, Lindvik delivered another excellent jump in the finals, finishing just 2.3 points ahead of German competitor Andreas Wellinger.

This victory was particularly sweet for Lindvik and his family after a challenging season where he struggled with form. Lindvik declared, "I am really happy, especially for Marius. He has worked incredibly hard, and it's emotional to see his father’s support all the way through."

The competition has seen a remarkable turnaround for Lindvik, who had dominated earlier in the summer and fall but faced setbacks during the winter. Thanks to focused efforts and returning to familiar equipment, he was able to rebound just in time for the championships.

The Norwegian team was eyeing gold medals, and Lindvik's achievement marked a significant milestone early in the competition.

- It was amazing to deliver under pressure. I’m pleased with my performance today. Lindvik noted after the event.

With this win, Lindvik has positioned himself as one of Norway’s finest jumpers, now holding titles from both the Ski Flying World Championship in Vikersund 2022 and the Olympic gold in Beijing.

Final Standings

In the aftermath of the competition, Norwegian coach Magnus Brevig expressed his pride in Lindvik’s performance, noting, “This was by far the best we’ve seen from him this season.”

Lindvik’s success was not just a testament to his skill, but also a celebration of family support and determination, making the victory all the more meaningful for the young athlete and his fans.
