Jan-Erik Aalbu, chief of the Norwegian ski jumping team, has publicly admitted to attempts to deceive the ski jumping world with manipulated suits. He stated in a press conference that his team knowingly sewed reinforced threads into the jumpsuits of athletes Johann André Forfang and Marius Lindvik, a clear violation of regulations.

Aalbu emphasized that this action was taken in a misguided belief that they would not be caught. "We cheated. We tried to deceive the system, and that is unacceptable," he stated.

The scandal emerged after Austria, Poland, and Slovenia filed protests detailing irregularities that were allegedly documented on video. As a result, Lindvik and Forfang were disqualified from their respective positions in the competition.

Aalbu's admission has led to widespread disappointment, including a statement from Norwegian sports president Zaineb Al-Samarai who labeled the actions as "serious and disappointing."
