Ski Jumping at Nordic World Championships: German Duo Causes Ecstasy!
At the Nordic World Championships in Trondheim, Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger is aiming for a medal after finishing in second place during the first round on the normal hill.
Wellinger's jump reached 106.5 meters, scoring 133.9 points, putting him just 3.3 points behind the leader, Norway's Marius Lindvik, who scored 137.2 points.
The excitement was palpable, with ZDF commentator Stefan Bier expressing his awe during the broadcast, while former ski jumper and expert Severin Freund was equally impressed by Wellinger's performance under challenging wind conditions, remarking on how crucial good scores from the judges were for the jumpers.
Additionally, Karl Geiger is also in contention, sitting fifth after his jump of 105.5 meters, sparking hope for a medal. However, Philipp Raimund didn't secure his place in the finals, finishing in 20th, while Pius Paschke just made it through, ranking 30th.
