Ski Jumping: Great Surprise After TV Decision
During the Ski Jumping World Championship, Andreas Wellinger notched an impressive silver medal. However, the ZDF surprised fans by abruptly halting its broadcast just after Pius Paschke completed his jump, switching their coverage to a political election broadcast instead.
The decision to end the coverage was particularly baffling because only the top four jumpers were set to compete next, including Marius Lindvik, who set a hill record, and Stefan Kraft. Fans expressed their frustration on social media, especially since pre-election coverage could also be seen on ARD.
The second round, where Wellinger captured the silver and Karl Geiger narrowly missed the podium, was not shown on ZDF’s main program.
