Surprising news has emerged from Wisła: the upcoming ski jumping competition in the Summer Grand Prix has been canceled due to damage to the ramp. This event was originally set for next week, leaving many fans disappointed.

The Summer Grand Prix is scheduled to kick off on August 13-14, 2024, in Courchevel, France, before heading to Poland just three days later for what was anticipated to be an exciting competition at the Wisła venue. However, last-minute changes have dashed the hopes of spectators eager to support their favorite Polish jumpers.

The cancellation stems from necessary repair work on the ski jumping hill. Journalist Mateusz Leleń has indicated that there may be potential to reschedule the event for a later date, possibly in September, if the repairs are completed in time.

At this point, the impact of the cancellation on the athletes' competitive schedules remains uncertain. The Summer Grand Prix encompasses five locations, with stops also planned in Romania (Rasnov), Austria (Hinzenbach), and Germany (Klingenthal) alongside the competitions in Poland and France.

Polish coach Thomas Thurnbichler had confirmed that Dawid Kubacki, Aleksander Zniszczoł, Paweł Wąsek, Kacper Juroszek, and Jakub Wolny were set to compete, as Poland has been allocated five spots for participants.
