In Lake Placid, the German ski jumping team as a whole struggled to deliver strong performances. Andreas Wellinger managed to rescue the day by finishing in the top 20 – a result that proved better than that of his teammates. In his first jump, Wellinger reached 119 meters and described the effort as “the right way,” which gave him hope and a boost in confidence despite the overall disappointing outing.

However, his second jump dropped to 116.5 meters, and he fell from 11th to 16th place. Other members of the team, such as Karl Geiger and Philipp Raimund, expressed clear disappointment with their performances; Geiger lost vital meters due to a poor flight and Raimund was visibly dissatisfied even though he managed a modest recovery, finishing as the second-best German at 27th place.

Additionally, Felix Hoffmann, who jumped 117.5 meters, ended up in 31st place while Pius Paschke, after a promising start earlier in the season, has opted to pause his World Cup participation in order to focus on training ahead of the upcoming Nordic Skiing World Championships. The report includes video highlights and further analysis of the event, along with the Lake Placid schedule for the coming days.
