National Team Membership May Cost Ski Jumpers 50,000 Kroner

National ski jumpers could face a hefty personal contribution of 50,000 kroner each to secure their spots on the team for the upcoming season. This announcement comes as the ski federation outlines its financial strategy in light of ongoing fiscal challenges.
The decision is a direct response to the economic difficulties plaguing the federation, particularly within the ski jumping division, which has struggled to attract sponsorship. Fortunately, there is still hope that athletes won't have to bear these costs alone, as efforts are being made to resolve the financial issues before the season kicks off.
Among the athletes, Johansson, who was dropped from the national team last season, found success through private training. Now back on the team, he joins fellow male A-status jumpers Forfang, Granerud, Lindvik, and Sundal. Meanwhile, Tande has received a B-status designation.
In the female division, A-status jumpers include Kvandal, Opseth, Bjoerseth, and Odine Streoehm. Despite these financial hurdles, the team remains determined in its ambitious preparations for potential Olympic success.
