Ski Flying - Women’s Competition in Vikersund Canceled Due to Strong Winds
The ski flying event in Vikersund for women faced unfavorable conditions. After a long wait of about 45 minutes, the jury decided to cancel the competition due to excessively strong winds.
Initially, qualifiers had already faced disruptions with cancellations for safety reasons. The jury emphasized that safety comes first, aligning with the decision for today's women’s competition.
This season will conclude at the World Cup event in Lahti, where two large hill competitions will be held on March 20 and 21. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, the best Austrian in the overall World Cup standings, commented that the decision was definitely the right one, prioritizing safety over the competition.
