The Swiss World Cup ski jumping team for the opening of the ski jumping season has been announced, featuring Simon Ammann, who is set to begin his remarkable 28th season in the sport. At 43, the four-time Olympic champion has endured a challenging year, having been sent down to lower competitions due to inconsistent performance. Recently, however, his results improved after switching from Fischer to Slatnar skis.
After demonstrating his capability, he has regained a position within the World Cup roster, ready to compete along with fellow Swiss jumpers Gregor Deschwanden, Killian Peier, and Felix Trunz. The season is poised to initiate in Lillehammer on November 23, providing Ammann with another opportunity to showcase his skills against younger competitors, while he still feels pressure from the up-and-coming athletes in the sport.
