In a surprising turn of events, Klemens Murańka has announced his retirement from ski jumping at the age of 30. His career highlight came in 2015 when he earned a bronze medal in the team event at the World Championships. In a series of heartfelt interviews and emotional social media updates, Murańka shared the reasons behind his decision to step away from the sport.

"I have decided to end my career. This decision did not come lightly; I have been contemplating it for at least two to three seasons," he revealed. "Year after year, I found it increasingly difficult to maintain my motivation. Part of this struggle stemmed from chronic hip pain that limited my mobility. I've been battling these issues since 2019, and over time, my body and mind began to resist. Ski jumping no longer brought me the joy it once did."

Murańka also reflected on the pressures of the sport, noting how the demands of ski jumping took a toll on his mental well-being. As a father, he was particularly sensitive to the challenges he faced early in his career, especially the intense media attention that surrounded his entry into the World Cup.

Although Murańka has not outlined specific plans for his future, he expressed deep gratitude towards his coaches, sponsors, and family in an emotional farewell on Instagram. "Dear fans, sponsors, and friends, after 23 years, I have made the difficult decision to conclude my journey in ski jumping," he wrote. "This has not been an easy choice, as I have devoted a significant portion of my life to this sport. Thank you for all the wonderful moments that I will forever cherish."
