An unexpected meeting occurred in Lillehammer! When the Polish team, including Alexander Stoeckl, arrived at the hotel, the Austrian saw Jan-Erik Aalbu, the new sports director of the Norwegian team, with whom he had previously worked. Halvor Egner Granerud also commented on the meeting.
In Lillehammer, on Friday, November 22, the first competition of the new winter ski jumping season will take place. That day, mixed teams will compete, while individual competitions will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
A total of nine members will represent Poland in Lillehammer, including Dawid Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Paweł Wąsek, among others. Marcin Bachleda selected Anna Twardosz, Natalia Słowik, Pola Bełtowska, and Nicole Konderla for the women's team.
The Polish team is staying at the Scandic Lillehammer hotel, just like other teams. Norwegian portal dagbladet.no interviewed Alexander Stoeckl, who previously was the coach of the Norwegian team and has now taken on the role of director for ski jumping and Nordic combined for the Polish team. Stoeckl shared his thoughts on the meeting he experienced upon his arrival at the hotel.
Halvor Egner Granerud expressed his hopes for the Polish team, stating: "It was nice to see how he got a job in Poland. I hope Poland will gain momentum compared to last season. Alexander Stoeckl has extensive knowledge about how to set up a team. The most important thing he did in Norway was create a structure. In this role, he can do a great job."
