Scandal Surrounds Norway - Will Suit Cheating Lead to Medal Shocks?
A scandal has emerged at the Nordic Ski Championships in Trondheim. Norwegian jumpers Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang were disqualified due to manipulations involving their suits after originally placing third and fifth in the competition. As claims of cheating surface, the FIS competition director admitted it is one of the toughest moments in his career.
Claims of cheating against the Norwegian ski team emerged during the ski jump off the large hill. Secret footage captured by a Polish journalist showed parts of the Norwegian ski jump suits being re-sewn together. Following this, Austria, Slovenia, and Poland filed protests which has now resulted in the disqualification of both Lindvik and Forfang.
