A scandal broke out during the Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer just before Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal's jump in qualifying for Saturday's competition. A large advertising board struck the starting beam where the Norwegian was already positioned. "After lowering the beam, we had a slight delay in moving the board located behind it," Sandro Pertile, the director of the Ski Jumping World Cup, admitted in an interview with Sport.pl. He made it clear that this was a human error.

While Sundal waited on the start beam for the green light before his qualifying trial, he ended up having to jump unexpectedly when the advertising board hit him from behind. Fortunately, he managed to adjust and execute a decent jump, ultimately qualifying in 12th place. Pertile acknowledged the situation's danger and stated that such an event should not occur in the future, having resolved the underlying issue post-incident.

Regarding the competition, Sundal finished 7th, and the next contest is scheduled for 4 PM on Sunday. Polish fans are looking forward to better performances from their athletes, with Paweł Wąsek achieving the best result on Saturday at 14th place, and Aleksander Zniszczoł and Dawid Kubacki also making it into the final series. However, Kamil Stoch and Maciej Kot did not qualify for the final thirty.
