Scandal at the Ski Jumping World Championships: Norwegians Admit to Cheating

Norwegians have confessed! The chief of Norwegian ski jumps officially revealed that they tried to cheat the system by manipulating their jumpsuits. "Thus, we have let down everyone who loves ski jumping," stated Jan-Erik Aalbu with remorse. However, he placed the blame on others, noting that auxiliary staff had chosen to sew the suits with reinforced thread, fully aware it was against regulations.
"It was done knowing the FIS would be unable to detect it. I was told that everyone crosses the line... I didn’t know that these suits were tampered with. For me, this is a shock, just as it is for you," he added during a press conference, quoted by Verdens Gang.
Let’s recall that the Norwegians were caught red-handed on Saturday when Jakub Balcerski from sport.pl published footage showing the illegal alteration of the jumpers' suits. Following the competition, Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang were disqualified. Initially, the disqualified athletes tried to defend themselves by denying the allegations.
