A Sad Sight at the World Championships. And It Could Get Even Worse

The World Ski Jumping Championships in Trondheim are off to a troubled start. The event, which has not seen such difficult conditions in at least 15 years, is facing a severe lack of natural snow. Local weather forecasts indicate the possibility of heavy rain, sparking concerns among both fans and organizers. A resident of the host city, speaking to Finnish media, described the situation as "sick."
Despite these alarming conditions, the organizers are confident that the championships will go on without jeopardy, thanks to the ample supply of artificial snow available at the ski stadium. The schedule is set with an official women's training session on Wednesday at 14:00, followed by qualifications for the women's individual event on the normal hill (HS102) on Thursday at 20:30, and further training and competition rounds through Friday and Saturday.
The article also notes that 19 Polish representatives have arrived in Norway to compete for medals. However, there is a significant concern as this is the first time since 2005 that Poland will be without its great champion, Kamil Stoch. The possibility that the Polish team may not secure any medals at the championships looms large given these circumstances.
