Crowd in Oberstdorf

Ski Jumping

Saturday's qualifications in Oberstdorf were less than successful for the Polish team, with only a glimmer of hope coming from Piotr Żyła. The competition was dominated by Austrians, and the record-breaking audience could not assist the hosts. A staggering 16,500 fans attended the qualifications, a record for this event.

Among the competitors, Daniel Tschofenig took the top position, followed by notable jumpers like Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayboeck. Despite the overwhelming support from the crowd, Pius Paschke of the host team finished just outside the top five, taking sixth place.

The excitement builds for the upcoming competition, set to start on Sunday at 16:30, kicking off the Four Hills Tournament. The first event will kick off in Oberstdorf, followed by competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck, and Bischofshofen, where the winner will receive the coveted Golden Eagle trophy along with a prize of 100,000 Swiss francs (approximately 450,000 Polish złoty).

The competing Polish jumpers include: - Piotr Żyła vs. Artti Aigro - Jakub Wolny vs. Antti Aalto - Aleksander Zniszczoł vs. Andreas Wellinger - Paweł Wąsek vs. Karl Geiger - Dawid Kubacki (did not qualify).

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from the world of ski jumping.
