Poland's ski jumpers are back in action, and among them is Dawid Kubacki, who recently made his mark at the delayed start of the Summer Grand Prix season in Courchevel. All five Polish competitors successfully advanced through the qualification rounds for Tuesday's event, where Kubacki delivered a stunning jump of 131 meters, earning him a commendable third place—no other competitor managed a longer jump. The top spot went to Karl Geiger, who impressed everyone with his high marks.
Last season was challenging for Polish athletes, with none making it into the top 15. Kubacki, who finished in 28th place, is determined to improve his ranking this year as he competes in the summer circuit.
The beginning of the summer ski jumping season has been unusual this year, as the International Ski Federation (FIS) opted for a later schedule, bringing jumpers to France this August. Stefan Kraft clinched the Crystal Globe last March, finishing atop the rankings, followed closely by Ryoyu Kobayashi and Andreas Wellinger.
This summer's Grand Prix promises better opportunities for success and skill enhancement ahead of the winter season. Competitions are scheduled in various locations including Rasnov, Hinzenbach, Klingenthal, and Wisla. The Grand Prix competition on Tuesday kicks off at 18:00, preceded by a women's event at 16:00. On Wednesday, qualifiers begin at 10:00, with the first series launching at 18:15.
