Rise in the Shadow of the Triumphant

In Kuusamo, Finland, Pius Paschke competes fiercely and wins his second season victory. Nevertheless, his teammate Markus Eisenbichler is also shining again. After a difficult previous season, he has scored his best result in a long time.

Markus Eisenbichler has revealed that towards the end of the last season, he struggled with mental health issues. Consequently, the ski jumper sought help and reflected on his challenges. Now, he has shared insights into his recovery with his health.

In Kuusamo, he managed to land in the top ten, finishing eighth and achieving his best result in a considerable period.

Following the competition, the former world champion expressed, "It feels amazing, I'm incredibly happy." His coach, Stefan Horngacher, praised his student: "Markus has worked exceptionally hard, even over the summer. The top-10 placement will surely give him a boost."

Eisenbichler Close to Retirement

Although he could not top Paschke's performance yet, Eisenbichler is certainly satisfied compared to last season. During the last season, he failed to place among the top spots in the second-tier Continental Cup, missed the Four Hills Tournament, and even contemplated retirement.

Recently, he stated, "I just hit a rough patch. Now I'm full of energy and it excites me again."

In the fight for a spot on the World Cup team, he recently surpassed Constantin Schmidt and was able to keep pace with Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger. "I prefer not to compare myself with others, but I could jump relatively well alongside them," Eisenbichler commented.

Horngacher also sees him as "definitely on the right path. He has trained well, and after his knee troubles, he has also physically developed further."
