The Polish Ski Federation (PZN) published an official statement regarding Thomas Thurnbichler. The Austrian coach decided against taking the position of the junior national team coach in ski jumping. The change in decision seems to stem from recent comments made by established Polish athletes, which negatively influenced Thurnbichler's willingness to accept the new role.

During a press conference held in Planica at the last World Cup event of the season, Adam Małysz informed attendees that Thurnbichler would no longer be the main coach of the Polish ski jumping team. Initially, a different scenario seemed possible; management offered him the position of the junior team coach, which many believed would be an ideal solution for the development of young Polish jumpers.

However, after the negative comments from prominent jumpers such as Dawid Kubacki and Aleksander Zniszczoł, Thurnbichler's perspective changed. He also mentioned that he had received offers from other countries, which could have influenced his decision.

The official statement from PZN clarified: "Thomas Thurnbichler will not be the coach of the junior national team. He declined the offer made by the PZN board."

Maciej Maciusiak has now been appointed to replace Thurnbichler as head coach of the A team, and Daniel Kwiatkowski, who was the junior team coach last season, awaits further decisions about his position.
