Polish Athlete Collects More World Cup Points – But It’s a Meager Consolation

During the recent World Cup event in Willingen, the focus in ski jumping was on the performances of several athletes. Polish jumper Anna Twardosz managed jumps of 108 m and 106.5 m, earning a total score of 113.6 points, which placed her in 29th position. Meanwhile, Pola Bełtowska recorded a jump of 85 m and ended up as the lowest scoring female competitor on Saturday’s day.

Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal triumphed with jumps of 137 m and 144.5 m, achieving a total of 261.7 points – marking her second win of the season. Following in the footsteps after the first series, Anna Odine Stroem (a fellow countrywoman) and Austrian Jacqueline Seifriedsberger scored 139 m/137 m and 137.5 m/147 m respectively, with Stroem falling 15.9 points short of Kvandal.

In the overall standings, Slovenia’s Nika Prevc leads with 933 points, while Germany’s Katharina Schmid is in second with 872 points and Kvandal in third with 686 points. With an additional 28 points, Twardosz finds herself in 35th place in the general classification.
