— Today's events brought both good and bad for the athletes — said Thomas Thurnbichler after the qualifications in Wisła. The coach remarked on the results he expects in the Saturday competition, expressing satisfaction if two of his athletes could finish around the top ten.
Piotr Żyła achieved the best result among Polish jumpers, finishing seventh in Friday's qualifications in Wisła. Dawid Kubacki placed 18th, Aleksander Zniszczoł 27th, with Kamil Stoch also making it into the top 30. Maciej Kot, Paweł Wąsek, and Jakub Wolny also qualified for the competition.
— It was a tough day, with changing conditions. We saw good jumps from Olek, Paweł in the first training series, or Piotr in the qualifications. Dawid's last jump was delayed, and Paweł couldn't maintain the stable position he had in the first jump. Again, for Olek, the second try was the best; he was on the limit during qualifications and didn't have the best conditions. Today's events brought both good and bad for each athlete — stated Thurnbichler in the mixed zone.
Thomas Thurnbichler's Expectations for the Saturday Competition
On Saturday, the jumpers will compete in the individual event. — It would be good to have two of our athletes around the top ten or in the top ten — the coach expressed his expectations.
