Polish Ski Jumpers Gear Up for Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov

Four talented Polish ski jumpers — Jakub Wolny, Paweł Wąsek, Kacper Juroszek, and Maciej Kot — are set to compete in the Summer Grand Prix in Rasnov, Romania. Scheduled for September 21-22, the events will take place at a 97-meter jump that saw great success last year, with Gregor Deschwanden and Vladimir Zografski taking top honors.

This year marks the third round of the Summer Grand Prix, featuring two individual men's competitions. Team coach Thomas Thurnbichler has chosen to field Wolny, Wąsek, Juroszek, and Kot as Poland's representatives.

In addition to the men's events, Rasnov will also host two individual women's competitions. However, the Polish Ski Association (PZN) has yet to announce whether any female ski jumpers will be partaking in these events.

General Classification of the Summer Grand Prix

As the Summer Grand Prix progresses, Stefan Kraft of Austria and Marius Lindvik of Norway lead the general classification, each having secured 200 points from victories in the first two rounds held in Wisla. Alex Insam from Italy follows in third place with 187 points.

Among the Polish competitors, Aleksander Zniszczoł stands as the best performer, currently sitting in eighth place with 104 points. Dawid Kubacki is close behind in 11th place with 103 points, while Jakub Wolny ranks 17th with 75 points.

Competition Schedule

Both competitions in Rasnov are set to begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. These contests will provide an essential opportunity for the athletes to accumulate points toward their overall standing in the Summer Grand Prix.
