This weekend, the Polish ski jumping team, featuring Paweł Wąsek, Dawid Kubacki, Jakub Wolny, and Kacper Juroszek, is gearing up for the Summer Grand Prix events in Hinzenbach, Austria. The competitions will be held on a normal hill (HS 90). Notably absent from the lineup are Aleksander Zniszczoł, currently competing in Courchevel and Wisła this summer, and Kamil Stoch, who is sidelined due to injury. Piotr Żyła is also just returning to training after undergoing surgery.
The Hinzenbach event represents the second-to-last stop in the Grand Prix series before the final competition in Klingenthal. The excitement kicks off on Saturday at the Aigner-Schanze with the first event beginning at 3 PM, followed by a second event on Sunday at 2 PM.
As it stands, the overall Grand Prix standings are led by Italy's Alex Insam, who has accumulated 273 points. Meanwhile, Wąsek, after securing victories in two events in Romania, is just 10 points behind. The current standings show Insam in first place with 273 points, Wąsek in a close second, and Norwegian Marius Lindvik along with Austrian Stefan Kraft tied for third, each with 200 points. With the upcoming competitions, the Polish team has a genuine opportunity to enhance their overall standings.
