Polish Ski Jumping Team Announced for World Cup Opener! Legends Excluded

Thomas Thurnbichler has made a decision regarding the Polish national team lineup for the mixed competition that will launch the new World Cup season. In the Friday competition at the large hill in Lillehammer (HS140), Anna Twardosz, Nicole Konderla, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Paweł Wąsek will compete. Notably missing from the roster are Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch, despite their presence at the event location.
This lineup is unprecedented as it excludes the most accomplished athletes in Polish ski jumping, including Szoch, Kubacki, and Piotr Żyła. Nonetheless, Zniszczoł and Wąsek performed impressively during the second training round just prior to the competition, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. In contrast, Kubacki ranked 25th, Stoch 28th, and Żyła was not even in Norway for this event.
A first in history! For the first time ever, the World Cup season commences with a mixed team event, a significant change introduced by the FIS. The competition is set to begin at 16:15, and live coverage will be available on Przegląd Sportowy Onet.
