Polish Ski Jumping Team’s Nations Cup Situation After Lake Placid Competition
Originally published in Przegląd Sportowy Onet on February 09, 2025
In the third competition of this season’s mixed event, the Polish representatives finished in seventh place overall. During the Lake Placid contest, the men’s performance improved the nation’s standing in the Nations Cup. Paweł Wąsek and Aleksander Zniszczoł helped secure the men's team in fifth place with 1247 points, although they trail the Slovenian team by more than 800 points. Austria currently leads the table with 6130 points.
The situation is even more concerning among the women, where competitors Pola Bełtowska and Anna Twardosz did not add to their points, leaving the female team positioned at 11th place with just 164 points. For comparison, the Norwegian women have amassed 3210 points, firmly in the lead.
After an intense Saturday in Lake Placid—where three competitions took place in one day, including individual events for men and women as well as the mixed contest—there is more action to come. The second individual competition for the men is scheduled for Sunday, with qualifications starting at 14:30 and the first series commencing at 16:00.
