The weekend in Sapporo proved to be a dream come true for the Japanese ski jumpers – especially for Ryoyu Kobayashi. Competing in the World Cup, Kobayashi secured his first win of the season in front of his home crowd on Saturday and added another victory on Sunday. These successes have provided a major boost in both his World Cup standing and in the Nations Cup classification.

The strong performances of the Japanese competitors translated into a significant points advantage. After the Saturday contest, the Japanese had already overtaken the Polish team, and their dominance increased further during Sunday’s event. By the end of the weekend, the Japanese had accumulated 1509 points compared to the Polish totals of 1388 points, clearly underlining the gap between the two teams.

Additionally, in the Nations Cup the Austrians remain the leaders with a massive point margin, while the Norwegian and German teams trailed by over 3000 points. Although much of the focus is on the international battle in Sapporo, the article clearly highlights the challenges faced by the Polish ski jumpers in keeping up with their stronger rivals.
