Germany Dominates Home Mixed Team Competition as Poland Falls Short

In the recent mixed team competition held at Klingenthal, the Polish ski jumping squad, featuring Dawid Kubacki, Paweł Wąsek, Anna Twardosz, and Natalia Słowik, finished in eighth place, marking a disappointing conclusion to the Summer Grand Prix. In contrast, the German team celebrated a triumphant home victory, amassing a remarkable total of 978.8 points. Pius Paschke was the star of the show, delivering impressive jumps of 138 m and 142.5 m, contributing 263.9 points to his team's success.

Despite holding the lead after the first round, the Norwegian duo of Halvor Egner Granerud and Marius Lindvik fell just 3.6 points short of Germany, ultimately settling for second place. Meanwhile, Austria claimed third on the podium with a total score of 959.3 points.

The Polish team's performance was underwhelming, as they faced challenges in qualifying for the second series. Their final score was 711 points, with Wąsek standing out individually, achieving 230.1 points after jumps of 133 m and 131 m. Kubacki, however, struggled with his performance, finishing with 205.1 points from jumps of 125 m and 125.5 m, placing him 24th in the individual rankings.

The mixed team event was also pivotal for the overall Summer Nations Cup standings. In this context, the Austrian men emerged victorious, while the Japanese women led their category. Looking ahead, the next winter ski jumping season is set to commence on November 22 in Lillehammer, Norway.
