Piotr Kudzia, a former Polish ski jumper and Nordic combined athlete, has successfully completed an impressive 1200 km bike ride in just 70 hours. This ambitious endeavor was aimed at raising funds for a young boy suffering from muscular dystrophy.

Born in 2000, Kudzia has an impressive athletic background, having participated three times in the World Junior Championships for Nordic combined. He is also a medalist in both Nordic combined and ski jumping at the Polish championships.

At the age of 23, Kudzia dedicated his ride to support a fundraising campaign for a 20-month-old boy who urgently needs treatment for muscular dystrophy. The challenge took him from Düsseldorf, Germany, to his hometown of Bystra in Poland, and he successfully completed it within the stipulated 70 hours, sharing updates on social media throughout the ride.

The urgency of the fundraising effort cannot be overstated, as the required treatment amounts to a staggering 13 million PLN, which must be raised before the child turns seven. Without this financial assistance, the child’s future remains uncertain. Since the campaign began in March, it has managed to gather 1.5 million PLN so far.

Upon completing his ride, Kudzia expressed his gratitude to all his supporters and conveyed a sense of fulfillment at having contributed to such a worthy cause. The funds raised are crucial because the necessary medication is only available in the United States and is not covered by the Polish healthcare system. The fundraiser is being organized through siepomaga.pl, rallying thousands of generous individuals to lend their support.
