The Summer Grand Prix season has officially kicked off, with the opening competition taking place in Courchevel, France. As anticipated, Austrian jumper Stefan Kraft delivered a standout performance, securing the top spot on the leaderboard. However, the results revealed some unexpected competitors trailing closely behind him.

Among the Polish athletes, Dawid Kubacki had the strongest showing. In the previous Winter World Cup finale held in March, it was also Kraft who claimed victory, clinching the coveted crystal globe over rivals Ryoyu Kobayashi and Andreas Wellinger. Unfortunately, none of the Polish jumpers managed to break into the top 15 during that event.

In Courchevel, Polish jumpers demonstrated their potential during qualifications, with all team members advancing. Kubacki notably excelled, achieving a commendable third place with a jump of 131 meters. However, despite their promising beginning, many Polish athletes encountered difficulties in the subsequent competition rounds.

A storm caused a temporary delay, and individual performances fluctuated significantly. Ultimately, Kubacki finished in 13th place, while his teammates fell further down the rankings. Stefan Kraft once again emerged victorious, leading the pack by a considerable margin.

Looking ahead, the Polish team will have an opportunity to bounce back in the next Grand Prix event scheduled for Wednesday, August 14. This season comprises a total of ten events, providing plenty of chances for improvement and stronger performances.
