Poland's Team Composition for the World Cup Opener Announced! Once Unimaginable

Thomas Thurnbichler has made his decision regarding the composition of the Polish team for the mixed team competition. In the Friday competitions at the large hill in Lillehammer (HS140), Anna Twardosz, Nicole Konderla, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Paweł Wąsek will compete. This event will launch the new World Cup season!
Just recently, such a lineup was hard to imagine, considering the absence of the most decorated athletes in our team, namely Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, and Piotr Żyła.
However, this is the reality. Zniszczoł and Wąsek were the best among the Polish representatives in the second training session shortly before the competition. Zniszczoł placed seventh, while Wąsek was eighth. In comparison, Kubacki was 25th, Stoch 28th, and Żyła is not present at all in Norway.
As Adam Bucholz reports on platform X, this is the first time that no one from the trio of Dawid Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, and Piotr Żyła is on the team for the team events, despite their presence at the competition site.
For the first time in history, the new season of the World Cup will kick off with a mixed team event. This significant change was implemented by the FIS. The start of the competitions is scheduled for 16:15. Live coverage can be followed on Przegląd Sportowy Onet.
