Paweł Wąsek

Paweł Wąsek, under pressure, managed to impress his fans during the ski jumping competition in Zakopane. Although he struggled in the trial series with a jump of only 114.5 meters, which placed him in the 48th position, Wąsek turned the situation around in the actual competition. He scored a remarkable 137 meters in the second round, receiving three scores of 19 from the judges, and ultimately finishing fifth overall.

The competition was intense, particularly with Anze Lanisek leading after the first series thanks to a jump of 145 meters. However, his performance deteriorated in the second round, allowing Daniel Tschofenig to step in and take first place with a jump of 139.5 meters.

Final results for Polish competitors were as follows: - 5th: Paweł Wąsek – 136m/137m - 24th: Kamil Stoch – 133m/125.5m - 26th: Dawid Kubacki – 132m/120m - 34th: Aleksander Zniszczoł – 127m - Jakub Wolny – disqualified

Despite the strong showing from Wąsek, Poland currently sits sixth in the Nations Cup standings, trailing Austria significantly. After this event, the overall lead in the World Cup standings remains firmly with the Austrians, while Polish jumpers look forward to improving their performances in the upcoming events.
