Poles Far in the Nations Cup

Andreas Wellinger won the single-series competition in Ruka. Strong wind gusts prevented the finals from being held. The best of the Poles, Dawid Kubacki, finished tenth. Kamil Stoch and Paweł Wąsek also scored points, significantly increasing the Polish team's tally in the Nations Cup standings.

Andreas Wellinger impressed with a jump of 146.5 m in the first round. Stefan Kraft was second with 145 m, and Karl Geiger third with 136.5 m. Dawid Kubacki finished the top ten with a leap of 130.5 m, Kamil Stoch reached 127.5 m, and Paweł Wąsek recorded 124.5 m. Aleksander Zniszczoł was the only Pole who did not advance, with a jump of 104 m.

Three Poles in the top ten significantly increased their Nations Cup standings. From 122 points collected by Saturday, they stood at 182 points by Sunday.

Austrians are steadily leading with 1139 points after the Sunday competition. Germans are currently second with 903 points, and Norway holds third place with 555 points. Poland is in sixth place with 182 points, trailing fifth-placed Japan by 35 points, indicating a recovery of 12 points compared to Saturday. They also hold a 39-point advantage over seventh-placed Switzerland.

The next competition for the jumpers will be in a week, in Wisła. World Cup events on the Polish hill will start on Friday, December 6, with training and qualifying rounds. The individual competitions will take place over the next two days (after 15:00).
