Piotr Żyła narrowly missed the podium at the Continental Cup in Ruka, finishing just 3.5 points shy of the top three. After a disappointing start to the season in Wisła, where he ranked fourteenth, his performance improved significantly in Ruka.
In the first round, Żyła launched a solid jump of 139 meters, putting him in fifth place, although he was over 7 points away from the podium. The second round saw him jump even further, reaching 142 meters, which was the best distance of the second series. However, this was only sufficient for a fourth-place finish, missing the podium by 3.4 points.
Maciej Kot also performed well, jumping 141.5 meters in the second round, which allowed him to move up five positions to finish in eighth place. Other Polish jumpers, Tymoteusz Amilkiewicz, Kacper Juroszek, and Tomasz Pilch, also competed, finishing in 21st, 24th, and 26th places respectively.
The competition was won by Robin Pedersen, with Markus Mueller and Benjamin Oestvold completing the top three.
