Paweł Wąsek Soars onto Podium in Lahti – An Unforgettable Joy

This was the day that Polish ski jump fans had been waiting for since the beginning of the season! Paweł Wąsek achieved his first career podium in the World Cup, taking third place in the competition in Lahti. His phenomenal jumps must be seen to be appreciated. The joy of his success was palpable.

Wąsek, after an impressive first jump of 127 meters, held onto third position half-way through the competition. In the final round, he not only maintained his position but also confirmed his excellent form with a jump of 127.5 meters. The excitement surged when it became clear that the young jumper would stand on the podium of this prestigious series for the first time.

The Lahti competition was full of surprises. Anze Lanisek claimed victory, marking his first win of the season, while Stefan Kraft took second place. Notably, Jan Hoerl executed a remarkable comeback, jumping 128.5 meters in the second round to rise 15 positions. Meanwhile, Lovro Kos, with a jump of 122.5 meters, advanced by 12 spots. Dawid Kubacki finished the event in 23rd place after a jump of 118.5 meters.

However, it was Wąsek who stole the show for Polish fans, defying expectations and showing that ski jumping in Poland still has a bright future, despite the aging masters.
