Paschke wins again - Daniel Tschofenig continues ÖSV podium series

Austria's ski jumpers have continued their World Cup podium series in the seventh individual season event. Daniel Tschofenig improved his position in the first competition in Titisee-Neustadt on Saturday, moving from fifth to third place in the final round.

The Carinthian scored 137.5 and 137 meters, totaling 281.7 points, finishing behind Germany's overall World Cup leader Pius Paschke (294.1) and Swiss Gregor Deschwanden (287.7).

Jan Hörl, who was fourth at halftime, finished sixth (273.9), and Maximilian Ortner came in eighth (270.0), rounding out a strong performance for the ÖSV team. Stefan Kraft (11th/265.6) and Michael Hayböck (12th/263.9) narrowly missed the top ten. Tschofenig had also stood on the podium as second with Hörl in the super team event on Friday. Paschke was already unbeatable together with his compatriot Andreas Wellinger then.

Paschke expands lead
The 34-year-old secured his fourth individual season victory following Lillehammer, Ruka, and most recently Wisla. This increased his lead in the overall standings to 576 points, with Tschofenig (440), Hörl (406), and Kraft (360) trailing behind. They had already achieved eleven podium finishes in individual competitions this season. Another individual event follows on Sunday.
