Silje Opseth makes her comeback at the highest level when the World Cup circus moves to Engelberg in Switzerland this weekend. Robert Johansson is not competing.
This was announced by the Norwegian Ski Federation in a statement on Wednesday.
Opseth has not been active in the World Cup since finishing 23rd and 20th in two events in Lillehammer at the end of November. Last weekend she competed in the Continental Cup in Notodden.
In addition to Opseth, Thea Minyan Bjørseth, Eirin Kvandal, Anna Odine Strøm, Ingvild Synnøve Midtskogen, and Heidi Dyhre Traaserud have been selected for the women's team.
Among the men, veteran Johansson has been dropped in favor of Benjamin Østvold. "Benjamin deserves the chance after good jumping at the second level. It will be exciting to see what he can perform in Engelberg," says the sport's chief executive Jan-Erik Aalbu.
Østvold secured an extra quota place for Norway in the Four Hills Tournament, which begins during the holiday season.
The rest of the Norwegian team includes Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, Marius Lindvik, Johann André Forfang, Halvor Egner Granerud, and Fredrik Villumstad.
