Daniel Huber, the Austrian ski jumper and Olympic team gold medalist, has unfortunately been ruled out for the entire ski jumping season. After expressing pain during the first training session of the World Cup opener in Lillehammer, it was determined that he needed surgery on his right knee due to a known cartilage fracture.

This is not the first time the 31-year-old has faced injury issues; he had hip surgery in March 2023. According to Florian Liegl, the sports director of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), this means a significant six-month jump break for Huber, who is understandably disappointed but remains optimistic about his future recovery and return to jumping.
