Norwegians Respond After Disqualification Scandal at the World Championships

Norwegians speak out following disqualifications at the World Championships. Hosts were caught in a cheating scandal involving their ski suits. "I sense a strong anger. They are behaving shamefully unsportsmanlike," exclaimed disqualified jumper Johann Andre Forfang. Marius Lindvik, who had his silver medal stripped away, also commented.

Marius Lindvik had already adorned the silver medal around his neck when the organizers of the ski jumping World Championships announced that the Norwegians would be disqualified. This followed a scandal that was revealed hours earlier by Jakub Balcerski from sport.pl, who published recordings showing illegal modifications to the jumpers' suits.

Local television NRK caught the hosts in the act. However, they insist that they were unaware of any cheating, as confirmed by World Cup Director Sandro Pertile.

Lindvik stated, "I haven't heard about this, so I need to check before I comment." A journalist from NRK pressed, "They claim you manipulated your suits!" Lindvik dismissed the question, saying, "No, that's not true."

Norwegian national team coach Magnus Brevig denied that Norway tampered with any ski suits. Johann André Forfang clearly opposes the protest. "Everyone was caught off guard by the allegations. I sense strong rage. They’re acting diabolically unsportsmanlike," he stated in an interview.

It’s worth noting that the Polish team, along with the Austrians, Germans, and Slovenes, submitted a formal protest.
